Dr. Alejandro Covarrubias is the President of Foundations for Hope & Justice Consulting. He is an organizational development consultant grounded in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ). He hopes to empower individuals and organizations in higher education, k-12 education, nonprofits, and beyond by developing their awareness, knowledge, and skills to identify inequity and exclusion; and create tangible strategies to build more accessible and equitable organizations. Dr. Covarrubias’ goal is to deepen people’s capacity to both critique and create, which leads to stronger commitments to creating more humanizing organizational structures.

Alejandro’s professional experiences include serving as the Executive Director of Equity, Access, and Belonging at California Polytechnic University, Pomona; serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Leadership Studies at the University of San Francisco; and has over 15 years of experience of leading equity and inclusion work in Higher Education settings. He also has over a decade of experience as a DEIJ organizational consultant, where he has worked with universities and non-profits across the country to build their capacity to engage in equity and inclusion work.

Dr. Covarrubias is faculty for the Social Justice Training Institute (SJTI.org). He is also certified in the StrengthsFinder assessment, the Intercultural Development Inventory, and the Social and Emotional Intelligence Profile.

He dedicated to challenging himself and others to think critically, holistically, and creatively through the head, the heart, and the body.
