Dr. Sahar D. Sattarzadeh


A daughter of U.S. refugee settlers of Azeri, Iranian, and Persian heritage, Dr. Sahar D. Sattarzadeh is an assistant professor of education studies at DePauw University on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded lands of the Delaware, Piankashaw, Wea, Miami, Kickapoo, Potawatomi, and Shawnee (Greencastle, Indiana) and a research associate at the Chair for Critical Studies in Higher Education Transformation (CriSHET) at Nelson Mandela University on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded lands of the Khokhoi, San, and AmaXhosa (Port Elizabeth, South Africa).  Her writing, research, and teaching work focus on critical comparative global Indigenous, ethnic, and racial (in)justices and (in)equities, particularly within the context of higher education, knowledge systems, activism, and human rights.
